Mr. Ludlow is originally from El Paso, Texas and a proud graduate of El Paso High School. He was a member of the TMEA All-State bands. After graduation, Mr. Ludlow attended West Texas A&M University in Canyon earning both a bachelor's and master's degree. He was a euphonium student of Joseph Cox and conducting student Gary Garner. While at West Texas A&M, he was a member of the Wind ensemble, Symphonic Band, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, Jazz band, and an active member of the Alpha Psi chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.

Upon graduation, Mr. Ludlow was Associate Director of Bands at San Jacinto Junior High.  He then advanced to Associate Director of Bands at Midland Senior High School. In 2002, he became Director of Bands at Andress High School in El Paso, Texas.  Under his direction, the Andress Marching Band consistently earned Superior ratings at various festivals, UIL, and Bands Of America Regionals.  In 2006, the Andress Marching Band advanced to the Texas State Marching Band Competition. Under Mr. Ludlow's baton, the Wind Ensemble received Superior ratings and was named "Best-in Class" at numerous festivals across the country. In 2005 Mr. Ludlow was named Andress High School Teacher of the year.

Mr. Ludlow also has extensive experience in the field of Color Guard. He has been the Color Guard Coordinator for programs throughout Texas, including:  Amarillo, Canyon, Midland, and El Paso.  His Winter Guards have competed in the West Texas Color Guard association circuit as well as WGI regionals. Mr. Ludlow is active as a clinician and adjudicator for marching & concert bands, color guard, and solo/ensemble competitions.  He currently holds the title of Director of Bands at Mansfield High School, where he oversees a thriving 5A band program.

Matt Garrett is originally from the Dallas, TX, area and is a graduate of Poteet HS in Mesquite where he was drum major of the Pirate Band. Matt received his B.A. in Music Education from Texas Tech University and his Master's degree in Conducting from Texas Christian University where he served as a graduate teaching assistant in addition to directing and designing for the color guard program. Additionally, during his time in graduate school Matt was also employed as the Visual Coordinator and Teaching Assistant at James Bowie HS in Arlington, TX, from 2004-2006. Matt began his drum corps teaching career in 2005 with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle corps, based out of Canton, OH, where he serves as a visual instructor.

Matt justcompleted a year term as an instructor for the Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA) where he trained and certified judging candidates in the areas of adjudicating marching and maneuvering, show design, and color guard design and performance.

Prior to attending graduate school he taught for 4 years as an Associate Band Director and the Color Guard Director at Mesquite HS in Mesquite, TX. In addition to his involvement in the marching band activity Matt is also heavily involved in designing for and teaching numerous fall color guards and winter guards. In addition to working with several high school guards, he is the Director and Designer for the Ars Nova Independent Winter Guard, finalists at the 2004 and 2005 WGI World Championships in the "Independent A" class, and the fourth place finalist at the 2006 WGI World Championships in the "Independent Open" class. He is also a very active drill designer and consultant for several high school marching bands across the country. One of the bands Matt works with, Poteet HS from Mesquite, TX, recently won the 2005 Texas State Marching Band Championship.

Matt’s performance experience is highlighted by marching soprano with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, marching for several years in the Ars Nova Winter Guard, performing as a featured dancer with the Richland Dance Company, and performing as a member and guest conductor for the TCU Wind Symphony. He enjoys spending what spare time he has with his wife Leslie.
